91快活林 will help area high school seniors figure out what they want to do with their futures at 鈥淪enior Day,鈥 starting at 2 p.m. Jan. 24, with a sign-up deadline of Jan. 18. Sign up at .
The annual senior day will feature campus tours, sessions with advisors and admissions representatives, housing and student life information and much more.听 Most importantly, students and parents can learn the countless benefits to attending Barton prior to attending a four-year college or, if they choose a career path, before entering the workforce.听 All participants will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win one of two $500 scholarships from the Barton Foundation.
Director of Admissions Tana Cooper encourages all seniors in the area to attend, even if they intend to go straight to a four-year school.
鈥淩egardless of your plans, our advisors can help you take a detailed look at your future plans, and what courses and career paths you might want to pursue,鈥 she said.听 鈥淚t is a great idea to at least come and visit and fill out the admissions application.鈥
Cooper said there are a lot of things students may not know about Barton and it鈥檚 definitely worth their time to see what Barton has to offer.
鈥淚f a student fills out the Admissions application before the May 1 Academic Scholarship Deadline, we will set aside scholarship money for those students until the fall semester begins,鈥 she said.听 鈥淏arton offers many of the same classes as four-year schools, but at about half the cost, and some of Barton鈥檚 career and technical programs take only a year to complete and can lead to a rewarding career.听 Some students may already think they are going elsewhere, but it never hurts to come and visit and have a backup plan.听 It鈥檚 a fun and free day.鈥
Following the afternoon of events, participants will be given free admittance to the evening鈥檚 basketball games against Pratt Community College, which will include a free T-shirt and concession stand voucher.听
