91快活林 will host the 14th Annual Jack Kilby Science Day from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on November 20 in the Fine Arts Building at 91快活林. High School juniors and seniors, students with appropriate Individual Educational Programs, high school science and technology instructors and appropriate administration are all invited to this free event.

LaVonne Gerritzen鈥檚 legacy at 91快活林 is one of longevity and adaptability. As technology changed over the years since she started in 1974, so did she.

鈥淚鈥檝e been here so long and have seen so many changes,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e touched nearly all areas of the college and I got to work with so many people here, not just people in my area.鈥

The first 91快活林 Student Recital of the school year will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 26 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157. 听The recital is free and open to the public. Children under five years of age are discouraged from attending.

The Barton Planetarium will host 鈥淛ourney to a Billion Suns鈥 at 7 p.m. October 23 in the 91快活林 Planetarium located in the Science Building.

"Journey to a Billion Suns" is a full-dome video experience taking viewers through time and history, explaining the basic technologies of star mapping and on a fascinating journey along the numerous features of the Milky Way.

Through the month of November, Shafer Gallery Director Dave Barnes is hosting a series of informal art talks every Thursday at noon in the Shafer Gallery. This fall the topic is 鈥淎ll About the 鈥業sms鈥欌. In this series, Barnes takes attendees on a very personal stroll through the numerous styles of modern art. Tables will be set up for attendees to bring their own lunch so they may enjoy the talk in addition to their meal.
