The drought monitor for Kansas has improved dramatically for Northeast Kansas as the predicted rains and more happened.Ìý The rest of the state is out of anything resembling even dry conditions.Ìý The forecast is for possible accumulating snow as this is being written for Sunday.Ìý Since the weather is the major news here, let’s review the good, the bad, and the ugly of this situation.

The Barton Performing Arts Department will host its annual Sneak Preview concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.Ìý The concert is open to the public. A free-will donation will be accepted at the door.
The event will feature performances by the Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Hilltop Singers and Prairie Winds Concert Band, each offering a peek into the musical potential of each group.
