Shafer Art Gallery鈥檚 鈥淓stamos Aqui鈥 exhibit to kick off with 鈥淔iesta Reception鈥

The Shafer Art Gallery will host a 鈥渇iesta reception鈥 to kick off the traveling exhibit 鈥淓stamos Aqui鈥 from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 27 featuring contemporary serigraphs by 40 artists, who create from the Latino/Chicano perspective as well guest exhibits in the same vain from local artists Humberto Saenz of Wichita and Hugo Gonzales of Great Bend.听 The event will include authentic Mexican food, live mariachi music, cultural dance and children鈥檚 activities.听

Barton Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) student Jonna Anspaugh of Heizer received the Outstanding Student Award from the Kansas Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS) in April.听 The award was presented to her at the MLT pinning on commencement day on May 16.
