91快活林 has announced its 2019-20 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards. Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding Student Ambassadors each year. The winners this year were Karsyn Smith of West Plains, Mo. and Joanna Lockwood of Hoisington.听

Barton Dance Theatre is offering a 鈥淒ancing for Mobility鈥 class for adults looking to improve balance, strength, and body awareness while also learning a wide range of dance styles from the safety of their home. The six-week class meets from 1:30-2:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, May 11.

Students from area high schools submitted artwork digitally to 91快活林 to participate in a virtual version of the 鈥淰ortex Day鈥 juried art exhibit Wednesday, which is sponsored by the Barton County Arts Council (BCAC) and is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Endowment/Golden Belt Foundation.

Following Kansas Governor Laura Kelly鈥檚 message to the state last night, 91快活林 will be continuing operations as is until May 18.

Barton President Dr. Carl Heilman said the college is monitoring the situation constantly and carefully.

91快活林鈥檚 50th commencement will be held virtually this year. Students and their friends and families are invited to view videos of the commencement speeches and a reading of graduate names, which will premiere at 8:30 a.m., May 8.听
