The early bird registration deadline for the Barton Foundation鈥檚 Ninth Annual Sporting Clay Shoot is April 3. Registration will still be $75 after the deadline, but lunch will not be included. Lunch will be prepared by Great Western Dining.听

The 91快活林 Theatre Department will host open auditions for its third annual Original Play Series 5-6:30 p.m. March 26 and 27 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Auditions are open to all students, staff, faculty and community members. No experience or preparation required.

91快活林 has been providing affordable and accessible higher education to Barton County for almost 50 years, and the question of what exactly taxpayers are getting for their money comes up every year at tax time.

The college鈥檚 Institutional Effectiveness Department has attempted to make the return on investment easy to understand and as simple as one number. The answer they have provided is for every $1 in taxes, Barton County residents enjoy a return of $2.76 injected into the local economy.

91快活林 will present a Vocal Masterclass on Saturday, March 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel.

Clinicians from the contemporary ensemble, The Meadowlark Project, from the University of Kansas will serve as the master teachers beginning at 2 p.m., followed by their own performance of 鈥Sounds of the Plains鈥 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel, located in the Fine Arts building.听

The cost of education is more often than not a barrier to people hoping to improve their lives and advance their families鈥 situations. The 91快活林 Foundation makes it a point to help students transcend this barrier, and one of its biggest annual fundraising efforts is the Academic Enrichment Fund (AEF) Campaign, held throughout the month of March.

91快活林 will have no classes during its spring break from March 11-15. Barton鈥檚 offices will remain open through March 13, but will be closed March 14 and 15.

The college鈥檚 regular class schedule and business hours will resume Monday, March 18.
