The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, September 20, indicates an ever-increasing expansion of extreme over most of Barton County.听 Currently the outlook is past grim for fall wheat planting in much of the state and the recent rains helped a little but most areas don鈥檛 have any subsoil moisture.
A wide range of local artists鈥 work will be on display at the Shafer Gallery as part of the Barton County Arts Council Friends and Acquaintances exhibit Sept. 30 through Nov. 3.
