The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, 7 indicated further improvement of conditions, especially for our area. The part of our area that was in extreme drought improved to severe last week and further to only moderate drought. There was some improvement for the western third of the state. The six to ten-day outlook (June 14 to 18) indicates a 40-60 percent chance of above-normal temperatures and 33-40 percent听chance of below-normal precipitation. The eight to fourteen-day outlook (June 16 to 22) indicates a 60 to 70% chance of above-normal temperatures and 33-40 percent听chance of below-normal precipitation. Helpful for wheat producers wanting to get in the field. So today, let鈥檚 see where we are at regarding the progress of the 2022 wheat crop and our summer row crops.

Thursday afternoon she celebrated a major milestone in that journey by receiving an associate in science degree from 91快活林 at the Fort Leavenworth Education Consortium commencement ceremony.
Ellsworth Correctional Facility (ECF) resident Tyler Armstrong has been incarcerated for nearly five years. Like most at the facility, he will eventually be released back into society. Armstrong鈥檚 release date is in June of 2024.

The Shafer Art Gallery has unveiled its new exhibit 鈥淧alimpsest,鈥 which will run through June 23 and feature works by 13 members of The Society of Layerists in Multi鈥揗edia. The society is a network for artists who express a holistic perspective in any style or medium and the show is celebrating its 40th year.
The Shafer Gallery brought back its popular 鈥淰irtual Vortex Day鈥 exhibit and juried art show this year, which is sponsored by the Barton County Arts Council (BCAC) and is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Endowment/Golden Belt Foundation and features artwork from high school students around the area.
