91快活林 will host a 鈥淢eet and Greet鈥 for its new Vice President, Dr. Robin Garrett from 4-5 p.m. September 14 at the Shafer Art Gallery, which is located in the Fine Arts Building. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.

91快活林 Lead Paramedic Instructor Dean A. Dexter was recently recognized by the Board of Directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for achieving 30 consecutive years as a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP).听 This national distinction is an honor held by few paramedics.

Planting the Next Crop of Farmers

The official end of summer in Kansas is really the start of school.听 Most public schools are now in session and 91快活林 started this past Wednesday.听 The next 鈥渃rop鈥 of students has started on the formal journey of becoming professionals in agriculture while some are in their sophomore year.听 It might be a bit of a stretch but let鈥檚 compare education and agriculture.

Each year, the 91快活林 faculty and staff get to strut their artistic talents in the Shafer Art Gallery鈥檚 鈥淔acultyStaffFriendsAcquaintancesandSomeFolksWeHardlyKnow鈥 exhibit like professional artists, complete with a full-blown reception from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.听 The exhibit features a variety of works by Louise Fenn including paintings, collages and constructions.听 Barton Ceramics Instructor Bill Forst will be featured with a display of recent ceramic work.

91快活林鈥檚 seventh-annual Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble, which benefits wounded soldiers from Fort Riley, is set for Saturday, Sept. 12. Registration deadline is Aug. 29, 2015.

The Wounded Warrior Scramble is an opportunity to not only support our soldiers, but thank them for their dedicated service and sacrifice for our country.

Shotgun start is set for 10 a.m. at the Custer Hill Golf Course at Fort Riley. Standard four-man golf scramble rules apply.
