The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, August 23, indicates increasing expansion of severe drought.听 Nothing more needs to be said.听 Currently the outlook for establishing and maintaining the 2023 wheat crop is sketchy at best for many parts of Kansas, with exceptions scattered about.听
In 2021 Barton shifted to the Noel Levitz (NL) survey tool from the former CCSSE tool due to the customizable features. We will conduct surveys every other year.

Creativity can happen at any age and members of Barton鈥檚 Dancing for Mobility class will showcase that during a performance titled 鈥淟ove Letters in Motion,鈥 at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Shafer Gallery, which will include uplifting music, live artwork and an interactive portion for the audience. Retired WNBA Basketball legend Jackie Stiles will speak at 91快活林 at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Fine Arts Auditorium to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
New business owners or those wanting to start a business can learn about key components of running a business from area experts on a variety of topics at Barton鈥檚 鈥淪tart, Run and Grow: Business Ownership Basics鈥 seminar from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings from Sept. 22 to Nov. 10 at the Great Bend Events Center.
The Barton Library鈥檚 Cohen Center for Kansas History holds a wealth of preserved historical documents, books, as well as other resources and is celebrating a grand reopening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Barton Library located in the center of campus.
The 91快活林 Theatre Department will hold auditions for its fall production of the bone-chilling thriller 鈥淭he Thin Place,鈥 by Lucas Hnath August 24-26 from 5-9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Barton accepts transfer credit earned at regionally and nationally accredited colleges in the听United States.听 Transfer credits will be accepted from colleges and universities starting from the year听they are accredited or hold candidacy status with their accrediting agencies.听听Non-accredited institutions are subject for听review by the听Registrar.
