The Barton Performing Arts Department invites听the community to enjoy nostalgic, holiday-themed entertainment from the comfort of their own home as it presents its first-ever 鈥渧irtual鈥 Holiday Concert premiering at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16.
The Drought Monitor, as of this past Tuesday, shows the pattern of last week intensifying with extreme and severe drought encompassing much of Northwest and Southwest Kansas.听 Most of Barton, Stafford, Pawnee, Rice, and Reno Counties are still in moderate drought.

91快活林 has released the 11 edition of its literary journal 鈥淧rairie Ink.鈥
The journal is intended as a venue for local authors to showcase their creative writing talents.
The collection of fiction, poetry, drama and non-fiction is open to submissions from Barton students, employees of community members who live in Barton鈥檚 seven-county service area and the Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth and Grandview Plaza outreach locations.

91快活林 will be closed for Thanksgiving break Wednesday, Nov. 25, through Friday, Nov. 27. The college will resume its regular schedule on Monday, Nov. 30.

The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration听recently announced the new Certified Volunteer Administrators (CVA) in the United States. Director of the听Volunteers听In听Action of Central Kansas听and AmeriCorps Seniors Programs Linn Hogg听is now one of only 6 CVA鈥檚 in the state of Kansas.听

Hogg said she hopes to use the knowledge she gained听to听continue to enhance volunteer efforts and organizations in the area.听
